Galena Community Update Sept. 24, 2025 

Mrs. Leslie – Administrative Assistant 

• If anyone has any yarn and/or crochet hooks and greenhouse gardening supplies they would like to donate? They can bring them to the school c/o Mrs. Jones or send them with their student to my room, 231. Thank you! 

• If you haven’t gone to The Mascot Shop and checked out our Galena Gear please take some time to look at some really cool gear. Here is the link but you can also find the link on our school website under families.  https://themascotshop.jostens.com/1011693 

A few important notes: 

• Staff Email Addresses: The district has removed all staff email addresses from the site. In their place, we now have a Contact Form where messages are directed to the appropriate department (e.g., attendance, registrar, counseling, athletics, etc.). 

• “Other” Inquiries: There is an “Other” category on the form. Emails submitted under this category are routed to Clara Mitchell. If a message is intended for a specific staff member, Clara will forward it to the appropriate person to respond. 

• Corrections or New Information: If you see anything that needs to be corrected or if you’d like to add new information to the site, please email Clara at cemitchell@washoeschools.net so she can make the change. 

Mrs. Taylor – Counselor 

• The WCSD College Fair is coming up! The event will take place on Sunday October 19^th from 11-2 at the Reno/Sparks Convention Center. Mrs. Rapisura – Athletic Secretary The Galena Soccer Program has two fun fundraisers coming up and we would love our community’s support!  

• Tuesday, Sept. 30th, please visit either south Reno locations Yogurt Beach and mention the Galena soccer program; part of their sales will go to our program!  

• Friday, Oct. 3rd, please join us for our second annual golf tournament at Wolf Run. Go to a Galena Soccer webpage to sign up: https://galena.washoeschools.net/activities/athletics/girls-soccer Don’t golf or can’t make it…we are also looking for hole sponsors! Thank you and go Grizz!
